Lost (Episode 25)
Try it at home!

At home …
  • Ask your child to draw a map of your house from memory, and then use the map to find your way around.
  • Play hide-and-seek.
  • Talk about different “safe” areas if your child gets separated from you in public.
  • Talk about different people who can help you if a child gets lost (i.e., police officer, firefighter).

Around town …

  • Ask your child to draw a map of your neighborhood from memory and then use the map to find your way around.

At the library …
While reading, ask your child if he or she can guess what will happen on the next page. If you are reading a picture book, ask your child to explain what the pictures mean. After the reading the book, have your child retell the story in his or her own words.
