Family (Episode 20)
Try it at home!

At home …
  • Find a project around the house to complete as a family such as yard work, laundry and making dinner.
  • Look through picture books to identify different types of families.
  • See how many different names you can think of for baby animals (ex., Duck = duckling, kangaroo = joey, dog = puppy, cat = kitten).

In the kitchen …
Plan a family taco night!

  • What you’ll need:
    Taco shells (hard or soft)
Variety of taco toppings such as meats, tomatoes, cheese and taco sauce
Assemble the tacos to your liking and see how many different combinations you can create. Make your family taco night a regular event that your children will look forward to!

Around town …

  • Take a family trip to different points of interest around town.
  • Make regular visits with family members who live in your area.

At the library …
While reading, ask your child if he or she can guess what will happen on the next page. If you are reading a picture book, ask your child to explain what the pictures mean. After the reading the book, have your child retell the story in his or her own words.
