Transportation
(Episode 8)
Try it at home!
At home …
-
Cut pictures from magazines of different types of transportation
(cars, buses, planes, trains, etc.). Cut the pictures into different
pieces and have your child reassemble the “puzzle.”
-
Pretend to be airplanes, and “fly” around the house.
-
Spray shaving cream all over your kitchen table, and draw pictures
of different types of transportation in it — quite messy but easy to
clean and tons of fun.
In the kitchen …
You don’t need to fly in a rocket to eat like an astronaut. Try this
easy pudding idea.
-
What you’ll need:
Any flavor of instant pudding
Milk
Plastic baggies (sealable)
Put one tablespoon of pudding mix in the bag along
with 1/4 cup of milk. Seal the bag and shake until mixed. Poke a hole in
the side, and suck out the pudding. Astronauts don’t eat with utensils,
and now neither does your child!
Around town …
-
When you are around town, point out different kinds of
transportation that you see. Make a game to see who can
find the most.
-
When traveling by car, look for license plates from
different states. Make a game to see who can find the
most.
At the library …
While reading, ask your child if he or
she can guess what will happen on the next page. If you are reading a
picture book, ask your child to explain what the pictures mean. After
the reading the book, have your child retell the story in his or her own
words.
